Warrants / Posting Bond

If you have an active warrant or have been arrested and you wish to post your own bond or have someone post bond on your behalf, you may do so at the Clerk of Court's office during regular business hours or at the police department after regular business hours, weekends or holidays.

Once bond is posted, your warrant will be recalled and you will receive instruction on whether or not a future court appearance is required. The bond you posted will remain open on your case until any fines and costs are assessed. After you have been pled and sentenced, your bond will then be applied towards the fines, costs, and fees that are owed. If there is any money left over, it will be returned to you. (If someone else posted your bond, any refund will be returned to them.) Should you fail to appear for your future appearance, your bond will be forfeited and another warrant for your arrest will be issued.

Note: If you have posted a bond for someone else and that person was given a future court date to appear, that bond will remain open on their case until any fines and costs are assessed. Any bond posted will be applied towards their fines, costs, and fees. If there is any money left over it will be returned to you at the address you provided on the bond form that you signed when you initially paid the bond. Because a bond is posted to secure a Defendant's appearance for court, if the Defendant fails to appear, the bond you posted will be forfeited and a warrant will be issued for the Defendant's arrest.
